Child Predator Sentenced to 15 Years for Child Porn

Joseph Leslie Reichard, 23, used his cell phone to produce images of child sexual abuse material that depicted a minor between the ages of one and three.  He then sent the images to a person in Pennslyvania via a messsaging app.  He was arrested in March of 2022 and remained in federal custody until he pleaded guilty in October 2022.

“This defendant used his cell phone to photograph and distribute despicable acts of sexual abuse against defenseless children,” remarked U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza of the Western District of Texas. “Limiting the availability of child sexual abuse begins with cracking down directly on offenders like Reichard, who can expect to face the harshest penalties under federal law.”

Investigators found sexually explicit images on Reichard’s cellphone that showed a girl between the ages of 1 and 3, including a photo that indicated she was still in diapers, according to the criminal complaint. Reichard took the pictures and distributed them to at least one other person in Pennsylvania, the complaint said.

The FBI San Antonio Division investigated the case in cooperation with the FBI Pittsburgh Division.
