Prominent Dallas, TX attorney’s wife and socialite prosecuted for child porn distribution
Erika Perdue convicted for child porn
Every day while Erika Perdue’s husband was at work practicing intellectual property law, she was at home with her children comfortably living in her 1.4-million-dollar home across the street from the neighborhood park, driving her choice of sports cars, creating the image of your everyday upstanding model housewife. In reality, behind closed doors, she was repulsively immersed in the world of distributing child sexual abuse material of toddlers being raped by adults to thousands of people across the country. She had so much material she could not keep up with all of it. Surrounded by the wealthiest and most affluent population of the DFW area living in Highland Park/University Park, she appeared to have it all, even her own children. She had the clout and respect of the community just because of where she lived. She did not have to earn the trust of others, as it was freely given without cause. No one would have suspected her.
Erika began trading material in 1999. The FBI started to investigate her in January 2012. In April 2012, her 1.4-million-dollar home was raided. By September 2012, she plead guilty. She took a plea deal to receive a 14-year sentence. She will have to pay a $10,000 fine and $5,000 to a mere one victim, who was identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as restitution. She was in and out of prison the first 6 years and sent to a luxurious treatment center for a sex offender specific rehabilitation program but was sent back to Federal Prison because of a suicide attempt. Upon her release she will register as a sex offender and be supervised for 8 years.
